It can be easy to feel isolated as a person in the South who believes in a more just and equitable South and world. We want to connect small SURJ chapters, as well as SURJ-affiliated, or SURJ-curious individuals to take tangible action for anti-racist change in the South. Even if you don't have a SURJ chapter near you, you can join with other like-minded individuals to take action that will affect your region in real ways.

As a region, the South shares many of the same struggles, strengths, and issues. The issues in each of the Southern states are absolutely interlinked with the issues in our neighboring states. That’s why some of our Deep Southern SURJ chapters and SURJ-affiliated individuals are linking up for regular action hours that will address both regional, state-wide, and local issues.

This will hopefully be the first of many. We intend to hold these actions every other week, and we're hoping they can be a way to connect with each other and to the issues that matter to us.
