Are you a young person who wants to learn more about the racial justice movement? Do you want to build community with other student activists? Are you interested in learning more about how you can better understand and leverage white racial identity to dismantle white supremacy?
Join us on May 11th for an opportunity to become a part of our growing national movement to mobilize white youth for racial justice.
What: A two-hour virtual meeting focused on community-building.
Together, we will begin answering our key question: How can we mobilize white youth for racial justice? You will get to connect with other youth activists and foster relationships with Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) and Organizing White Men for Collective Liberation (OWMCL) leaders. We will describe our SURJ and OWMCL community, what we hope to achieve together, and how you can become a leader in this movement. This event was co-created by young people and will be a space to make your own.
When: Tuesday, May 11th, 2021 @ 4:30pm - 6:30pm PT / 7:30pm - 9:30pm ET
Who: Middle and high school organizers/activists and students curious about their role in the racial justice movement.
Our community prioritizes youth voice and youth leadership. This space is open to all identities. With that said, we want potential participants to know that the organizers of this space come from SURJ and OWMCL, a group dedicated to mobilizing people who benefit from white privilege who want to fight white supremacy.

Why: There has been a massive upswell from white youth to confront racism and we want to help harness and support that energy.
Similar to the successes seen in other movements like climate justice, we want to cultivate a critical mass of student activists to end white supremacy. Over the past several months, youth across the nation have organized alongside SURJ and OWMCL leaders to build a platform to amplify youth voices for racial justice. Our vision is for this national youth movement to exist for many decades to come and we want you to be a co-creator! This meeting will be the spark that ignites our collective effort.
We’re excited to meet you and grow this movement alongside you. If you have any questions or ideas, please reach out to Josh Schott - josh.d.schott@gmail.com
