On the Frontline: Climate Justice for the People (Working Families Party)

Join us for “On the Frontline: Climate Justice for the People” on the eve of Earth Day - Wed. April 21st at 8pm ET - to learn about the climate justice vision and demands coming from the grassroots, and how you can take action to advance the THRIVE Act.

Register here!

This conversation will be led by Cindy Wiesner of Grassroots Global Justice & Rising Majority. Featured speakers will include Tom Goldtooth, founder of Indigenous Environmental Network, Miya Yoshitani, director of Asian Pacific Environmental Network, Monica Lewis Patrick of We the People of Detroit, and Silas, a 13 year old Anishinaabe who is active in the fight to stop the Line 3 pipeline in Minnesota.

“On the Frontline: Climate Justice for the People” will cover:

  • Testimony from on the ground struggles including indigenous youth fighting pipeline expansion in Minnesota, and the fight for clean water in Detroit.

  • Political education on false solutions such as carbon markets and why proposals coming out of Washington don’t address the root causes of climate change, or the disparity of climate impacts on working-class and communities of color.

  • The THRIVE Agenda a truly bold recovery package to revive our economy while addressing climate change, racial injustice, public health, and economic inequity with a plan to create millions of dignified jobs.

The Frontline, Movement for Black Lives, the Working Families Party, and United We Dream invite you to “On the Frontline” Mass Call and Training Series. This series will include virtual town halls and skill-based trainings, where you will hear updates and analysis from movement leaders, engage in political education, and learn concrete skills to take meaningful action.
