On-Line Reading of GASPING (A Play and Workshop)

From 2016-2021, our multi-racial, multi-generational ensemble created GASPING, a play and workshop that explores how white supremacy impacts parenting in progressive middle class communities and raises funds for BIPOC-led cultural work and organizing. In 2019, our ensemble of two adults and two children toured the play to eight communities in NY and New England to foster dialogue and raise funds - including a reading that benefited the Western Mass SURJ reparations campaign. We're now inviting any community to gather people together to do readings of the play (on-line or in person) without cost, in order to foster dialogue and raise funds for BIPOC-led work. Our website (www.gaspingtheplay.com) includes the script, info about our team, workshop outlines, and other user-friendly, accessible materials. Theatre experience is not required to do a reading. If you'd like to learn more about the play, we invite you to join us for an on-line reading on Friday, November 5th, from 7:30 - 8:45 pm EST. For a Zoom link for the reading or more information about the play, email gaspingtheplay@gmail.com.
