We’ve all heard it; our friends, colleagues, and family members shifting the focus from the content of BLM protests to the nature of those protests. This workshop builds on the four phases of compassionate anti-racist dialogue from Part I of Exploring Anti-Racist Conversations. We will specifically focus on how to respond to someone criticizing the nature of BLM protests. We will strategize and plan careful responses to these comments. What shared moral value underlies the comments? What personal story can I prepare to inspire curiosity and connection? We’ll spend a lot of time in breakout groups, exploring these questions and building specific strategies to have productive conversations. This is part II of our discussion series. Participants should have already attended a part I workshop or previous Exploring Anti-Racism prior to attending.
