Illuminating the Intersections: Reproductive Justice is Racial Justice (U of L Anne Braden Institute for Social Justice Research)

The U of L Anne Braden Institute for Social Justice Research is thrilled to present our first-ever virtual Research Meets Activism panel, “Illuminating the Intersections: Reproductive Justice is Racial Justice."

SisterSong defines Reproductive Justice as the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities.

Our panelists will discuss their work in Louisville to broaden the conversations around reproductive justice and highlight the ways that racism manifests in relation to these principles.

Speakers include:
Damara Jenkins, Certified Nurse Midwife at University of Louisville Center for Women and Infants
Erin Smith, Executive Director at Kentucky Health Justice Network
Kabira Yakini, Doula Program Referral Director at Mama to Mama
and
Adrienne Smith, UofL Health and Social Justice Scholars

With closing commentary by Loretta Ross.

ASL interpretation provided.
