Are you considering attending a march, protest, walk-out, or other direct action for the first time?

Would you like a better understanding of your rights and how to support those who are marching in the streets for racial and social justice? Want to know about different roles and responsibilities for protests?

SURJ ATL wants to prepare YOU through our FREE direct action training in December! Led by two members of the National Lawyers Guild, this training will cover:

1) Overview of different roles in a direct action. (There’s more to do than march and chant!)

2) Do’s and don’ts for participating in your first direct action, including practical advice and how to position yourself if you come from a place of privilege.

3) If you were to get arrested: what to expect, how to prepare ahead of time, how to behave during the process, and what the implications are for you long-term.

You DO NOT have to be a SURJ member to participate! All folks who are ready to show up against oppression are welcome to attend.
